Here is how I mastered writing in three languages
Before social media appeared, I wrote about one article a week. My early writing was sent only to family and friends via mailing lists. After I created my Facebook account on 2008, I published some of my articles I wrote every Monday morning under the name “صباح الإثنين” which means “Monday Morning” in Arabic.
Since I was a child, I have been passionate about writing Arabic content. I was happy during Arabic writing classes when the exercises were a kind of games for me. I found them an occasion to express myself, my opinions in subjects I liked to discuss with the teacher and my classmates.
My uncle who was a philosophy and Arabic language teacher encouraged me to master Arabic grammar, read a lot and write content. He was the first who bought for me an issue of Majid, the first Arab magazine for children. Then, I became a Majid magazine addict. Not only did I read the issues of the magazine, but I also contributed constantly by submitting content hoping they published it. They also gave me a reporter’s card so I could send them news about events and do interviews as a cub reporter.
I have mastered French since childhood. It is the main foreign language taught since elementary school. Yet, I used it only for study and work purposes, until the last two years when I started to publish some articles in French on fields in which I specialize. My fluency in French is due to the fact that I am an engineer, and that the French language is used to teach science, technology and economics in Morocco. It is also the main language for working in these fields.
English was my second favorite language after Arabic. And in Morocco, English was taught in the high school and there is official plans to make it compulsory starting from the primary schools (it is aleardy the case in private schools). For this reason I enrolled in the American Language Center (ALC) of Rabat the summer prior to entering high school. But I stopped it in my third intermediate level until 2017 when I decided to return to ALC. I resumed from Intermediate One until I finished the last Advanced Level. And I am currently pursuing specialized sessions in the same centre such as “Life Skills and Leadership” and “Public Speaking” modules.
All these experiences have shaped me into a kind of trilingual writer. After having published several Arabic articles in some news portals, I published my first article in English on my Linkedin profile contening some advice for job seekers based on my own experience. Then, I decided to focus on writing specialized content relating to my career and studies. After month of reflex and a lot of reading, I wrote my first article on the renewable energy field: Legislative Framework For Renewable Energy in Morocco. It was also my second article in English. And I had it published in one of the most known websites in the field, the Renewable Energy World magazine.
During 2019 and 2020 I carried on writing on the renewables and sustainability niches. I got some articles in Arabic and French published on some websites and in a newspaper. I would like to share them as follows :

My success to build a writing portfolio in three languages gave me a greater passion for writing and a desire to produce content in English for a wider reading audience. For this a reason and in the purpose of more investing in my writing skills I wrote this article which was my first one on the Medium platform.
